The sun behind the Washington Monument. Really not much to this one :)

@Ana Lúcia: Thanks :)

Simple yet a nice shot! I like hoe you used the light of the moon behind the monument.

I walked this obelisk the first dozen times I went up there. I was afraid of the elevator.

@Stephen Phillips: I have yet to take the elevator to the top of the monument. I kind of like the view from the bottom. Did you ever manage to make it up the elevator?

...in answer to your Q: I fell and broke my collar-bone as an infant and grew up with a fear of heights. Until about 12 years old - I wouldn't go up at all. I walked up and down a dozen times before finally deciding to take the elevator down. After three or four stairs up and elevator down excursions - I decided 'this is silly' and manged to start round trips in the flying steel box. The view is awesome.

@Stephen Phillips: I'm glad to hear that you made it to the top! It's not silly to be afraid of heights (or spiders or birds) we all have different experiences that make us afraid. I'm not exactly a fan of needles... So now I'm going to have to get to the top of this thing :) That would be awesome. Thanks for responding back Stephen. Hope things are going well.
