This Land is your Land

Friends, Romans, Countryman (and woman)...

Due to circumstances beyond my control (and it's a very long story which I'm still quite bitter about) I did not make the inauguration.

I still need a moment to digest it.

I won't discuss it here, but if you'd like the full story, feel free to email me.

With that being said, I have to indulge you with photos from the concert, which was as energizing and moving as anything I've ever seen.

Toward the end of the concert, when "This Land is your Land" was playing, some people around my area got into a circle and started to dance. I grabbed my camera and got in the middle. I've never seen so many people so happy and loving to each other, even to perfect strangers. Everyone was just in a really good mood.

Perhaps it took us 8 years to finally learn to love each other.

Please feel free to leave constructive comments (positive, negative, indifferent). I think feedback is one of the most important tools anyone can use when engaged in the learning process.

Well I hope you got to catch it on television, at least. It was phenomenal. I have five hours of it recorded on my DVR, haha. And there it will stay...

This image is great. In my mind, having known what people have told me about the mood in the District, it's quite likely many of these people didn't even know each other. For now they look like best friends, though!

And it didn't take Obama very long to make change, did it? Guantanamo is now scheduled to close and torture has come to an abrupt end by executive order.

Y'd need a real strong filter to suppress the enthusiasm at that level out there . . ! Great shot for amazing times.
