Final StagePosted by Shrigley Photography (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States) on 19 January 2009 in Architecture. I posted this shot http://shrig.aminus3.com/image/2009-01-06.html a few days ago. I wanted to show you what the final stage for the inauguration will look like, which I have every intention of going to tomorrow, even if i have to stand for 8 hours in rain and am too far away to actually see him, I'm going to be there. The concert yesterday was amazing. I was too far away to get shots of the actual concert and too short to get a good one of Lincoln, but I did get some crowd shots and will hopefully have those ready to go as soon as I can. I'll post a bunch of them at my other website, www.shrigs2.blogspot.com if you would like to see a bunch of them at once instead of one a day. You can read more about the concert here: It was completely bitchn'. :) Please feel free to leave constructive comments (positive, negative, indifferent). I think feedback is one of the most important tools anyone can use when engaged in the learning process. "Be well, do good work and keep in touch."

Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesGood for you, Shrig. Please include us in spirit. I watched the concert online yesterday and tears were rolling down my face as they brought out Pete Seeger at the end to lead the throngs in, "This Land Is My Land." I fully understand your desire to be there and the forecast sounds pretty good compared to a few days ago. 19 Jan 2009 7:21pm @Stephen Phillips: I will do so, for everyone. It's been incredible here over the past few days. When I was at the concert, I saw people dancing around, cheering, laughing, holding each other. I haven't been able to get "The Rising" out of my head yet. :) Thank you for your kind words. I think things will get worse before they get better as well, but I'm very optimistic about our future. I think people just need to understand that Obama is only human taking on a job that will be the most difficult challenged he's faced. We'll have days where we think it's just impossible to get through, but nothing is impossible if you just put your mind to it. That's always been my belief. Peace. Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesThis is going to be an awesome event to be sure. I hope you get some great shots of what I am sure will be an emotional and important day in our history. My only fear is that the expectations have been raised so high that it would be hard for any human to live up to them even if they could perform miracles. Let's hope. 19 Jan 2009 9:05pm @Laurie: That is my fear as well. He's taking on an overwhelming job that, quite frankly, I wouldn't want in 100 years. But, I think he's the most capable man for the job. Thanks for stopping by! 613photo from DALLAS, United StatesA new era is definitely beginning, as said. And it's about damn time, too. I've been waiting eight years for tomorrow. 20 Jan 2009 2:20am @613photo: Me too, dude. Me too. :) See you soon. |
