This is a series of photos I have on a fantastic cemetery near a friend's house in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
These aren't the most artistic photos in the world, but I post this series to make a point. Understandabaly, death is a scary subject. Most of us (if not all) have lost a loved one or have even watched someone die. Although it is the end of a life, an era, the loss of someone so dear to us that it makes us cry to think about the fact that they aren't here anymore, death is not a bad thing, nor should it be a scary little item of business to talk about. Whatever belief system you value, whatever religion you follow, death shouldn't be seen as a terrible end, but of a way of life coming full circle, coming together.
My intentions here are not of a sinister or mobid kind, but to hopefully get people to clear the air with not only those they love, but with themselves.
Peace.

Beautiful tones in this shot. Wonderful and profound words accompanying the shot too.

Indeed beautiful...like the tombstones & best is the light IMO...I doubt whether harsh light would have done justice to this scene. Good work Shrig! Regards Angshu

Yes, even the lighting looks respectful . . and I share your philosophy on the topic : all part of a bigger pattern for sure.

My mom lives for decorating all the family graves - some people just love the whole idea of celebrating the dead.
